It’s officially fashion month and the runways are dripping with gorgeous new looks that many of us cannot wait to try. That’s why it couldn’t seem more appropriate to start looking at some of the must-haves for autumn fashion that will be the biggest trends of the season. Although fashion houses are showing their spring/summer collections on the catwalks this month, that doesn’t mean we can’t take a few cues from the trends and find some of the most covetable styles for the autumn season.
The key to finding out the hottest trends is to combine the autumn/winter looks shown this past spring and seeing what the designers are up to currently. If you’re wondering how to make your fall fashion wardrobe even more fabulous this season, take a look at some of the autumn must-haves below that are sure to give you lots of style points!
1. Romantic Florals
If you thought that flower prints were reserved only for spring and summer, you are kindly mistaken. Designers have found a way to make florals work for fall, and they are gorgeous! To make florals autumn-appropriate, look for romantic rose prints on flowing maxi dresses with sleeves. There are some lovely examples here that incorporate florals for fall with lots of style personalities in mind.
2. Patchwork Denim
Denim is getting a little more grungy these days, and it’s thankfully quite versatile for all the fall tops you have planned. Patchwork and reconstructed jeans will be everywhere this season, so don’t miss out on getting your own pair of throwback denim. The more mismatched the washes and patches, the more stylish you are! Don’t be afraid to go outside the box on this one.
This Summer of 2016 has been great. That’s what I repeat to myself now that the beach days are over, the days are getting shorter and autumn is just around the corner (literally!).
And you might be thinking, why has it been great for me? Because I’ve spent most of my time on the beach or boat, managed to see friends that I haven’t seen for years and I lived moments that I will never forget with people I love.
This summer I’ve managed to spend a lot of time in Spain, especially in Denia, where I’m from. The last time I spent over a month there was 10 years ago, before Uni and before I considered myself an adult (let me clarify… adult in the sense of responsibilities and my mind may not be fully there yet ).
My top summer moments:
1. I got a new tattoo at the end of July and I still don’t regret it and I don’t think I ever will.
2. Day trip to Formentera with my best friend. We rented a scooter, ate fish, ice cream, sunbathed and chatted away all day. Exactly what you need to do with your bestie.
3. Saw friends from school and Uni that I haven’t seen in years.
Today I want to write about a very special local company that was born here in Brighton: Hickory Dickory Designs.
Hickory Dickory Designs is based in Hove (actually), and all the products are designed, produced, individually painted, decorated and assembled by their team here in the UK.
What I like most abut their products is their personalisation – everything is precisely customised to the customer’s requirements, which makes each piece unique and special.
Talking about special, last month I had two very special occasions: my <3’s birthday and also my best friend bought her first house! I wanted to get them something different, personal and memorable for their special moments. Hickory Dickory Designs appeared in my life just at the right time.
For <3’s birthday I got him an engraved wooden card with a cheesy message (lol). All I had to do was send to the Hickory Dickory Designs team the message and they made it exactly as I wanted.
Today, after a busy week at work I’ve decided to try the peel off face mask that’s been in my bathroom cupboard for over a year…
I got it last summer after my visit to The Grand Hotel Spa in Brighton, where they have Natural Spa Factory products. I’ve never heard of this brand before but I must say that I like the fact that all their products are made with botanically resourced ingredients, without parabens, SLS and any dodgy ingredients. It’s all natural and I love that!
This bilberry & chamomile peel off mask has healthy-aging properties, which comes from the bilberry as well as a smoothing effect from the chamomile. It also contains marine algae, which has moisturising, healing and strengthening properties that give the skin antioxidant protection.
Each pack contains around 2 treatments and it’s specifically designed for sensitive skin.
How to use it?
- Mix half of the package (around 15g of powder) with 45ml of water
- Stir with a spatula for 1 min to get a smooth paste
- Apply immediately avoiding the eyes and eyebrows. If you don’t apply it immediately the mix will turn into jelly and you won’t be able to use it – trust me when I say this as it happened to me!
- Leave the mask for 10-15 minutes to obtain best results.
Summer is around the corner. Even though we are having some grey days, the weather is getting nicer and warmer. @Sun, can you stay with us in Brighton till the end of the summer, please?
After a very relaxing weekend, catching up with friends and sunbathing till I melted, I had a look at the house (hahaha I wish it was mine!) and decided it needed a summer touch.
I went to Pinterest straightaway and started looking for some summer home décor ideas. And here I am, writing about how I want to redecorate the house and give it a colourful summer vibe.
Here are few things to consider to get that desired summer look:
Get colourful bedding
Simple but colourful bedding can change the bedroom atmosphere. I personally love this one despite not being a very colourful person.
Light colours in the living room
The living room is where I spend most of my chilling time. Creating a nice atmosphere in the living room is a priority for me as I want it to be a nice place to relax.
