Christmas Tree Decoration Ideas

Last weekend I had some friends from Spain staying over, so we visited all the tourist places here in Brighton and London (of course!). Guess what? It’s Christmas everywhere! I’ve already spotted some Christmas trees. Churchill Sq. shopping centre and Brighton Clock Tower have the classic Christmas lights on, and Christmas decorations are becoming the main character in the shop windows.

Today on the blog I want to inspire all of you so you can decorate your Christmas tree as you have never done before. It doesn’t matter if the tree is small or big, real or fake, green or white… get inspired and start the merry season now!

THE Summer BBQ

I love the fact that nothing stops a British bbq! It doesn’t matter if it’s been raining the whole week, it will still be on. To be honest, I’m amazed about this fact as barbeques are always good fun :-)

Last Thursday I went to THE BBQ of the Summer. Yes, it has been the best one so far this Summer and, keeping in mind that Summer is almost gone, it was the best of 2015.

In honour to the National Burger Day (27th August), Talented Talkers organised on behalf of Asda a MEAT up with quite a few Brighton bloggers.

Brighton Bloggers

The Big Lemon bus picked us up from Brighton train station and drove us to a secret location, which ended up being a beautiful house in Woodingden.

We had all sort of burgers, from halloumi to pulled pork; with different types of salads and pudding. The food was delicious, I kind of want one of those burgers right now and I just had dinner!

A day in Formentera – What to do

Yes, I’m still in a holiday mood after more two weeks of sun, beaches, cocktails and seafood.

In the first two weeks of August, I went to visit my family and friends in Spain. I went to Denia (Alicante), my hometown and a beautiful paradise in the Mediterranean Sea. While I was there, me and my <3 decided to take a day trip to Formentera. I highly recommend doing this trip if you have the chance.

So, let me tell you everything we did in Formentera:

  1. Rent a scooter

We took the ferry from Denia at 9am, got to Formentera by 11 and went straightaway to the motorbike rental place where we had previously booked a scooter. The rental place is called La Savina rent a car and they offered us a very good deal. The place was very easy to find

  1. Visit Cala Saona

Once we had the scooter we went to Cala Saona, a beautiful beach with crystal clear water, a real paradise.

As the sandy beach was quite busy, we decided to go a bit to the right of the beach and climb some rocks where it was a bit quieter.

My family had recommended this beach as they used to go to Formentera every Summer. You can see in the pictures how amazing it is!

  1. Eat seafood – yum!

After Cala Saona, we went to have seafood paella in a wonderful restaurant called Es Cap. Bearing in mind how expensive this island is in Summer, this one was pretty affordable. The restaurant is not by the beach but by the main road, however, the service and food were amazing and I will definitely come back if I have the chance.

Formentera has two very famous lighthouses, one on the East of the island and another one on the West.

4 & 5. Go to the two lighthouses: La Mola and Barbaria

They are called ‘Faro de La Mola’ (East) and ‘Faro de Barbaria (West). This last one got really famous after the Spanish movie ‘Lucia y el sexo’.

Both lighthouses have amazing views, and they are a must visit if you are in Fromentera.

Top 5 ‘Late’ Summer Reads

If you follow me on Instagram you’d probably noticed that I’ve been on holidays during the last two weeks. Yes, two full weeks of sun, parties, traveling, tanning and eating nice food. It seems pretty busy but I’ve also managed to take time to read. I love reading on the beach, hearing the sea and feeling the sun on my body.

I made the following list of books before going on holidays but I’ve only managed to read “The Girl on the Train”, which I highly recommended (I’m so hooked right now!).

If you haven’t been on holidays this Summer yet, and even if you have but enjoy reading, have a look at my top Summer reads and get inspired:

Pro:Voke Touch of silver brightening shampoo and conditioner – Review

A month or so ago, Jess, from Girlycopyright (beauty and hair blogger), recommended me to try the Pro:Voke Touch of Silver shampoo and conditioner as I was moaning about my hair not being shiny. Her expertise in hair convinced me to give it a try.

The products I’ve been using are: the twice a week shampoo and the daily conditioner. I can really tell the difference after a month.

Pro:Voke - Touch of Silver Review

I have highlighted hair with different brunette and blonde tones. However, I haven’t been in a hair salon since Christmas, so the colour was fading and becoming too warm and yellow due to the lack of sun during the Winter.
