Review: Bilberry & Chamomile Peel Off Mask By Natural Spa Factory

Today, after a busy week at work I’ve decided to try the peel off face mask that’s been in my bathroom cupboard for over a year…

I got it last summer after my visit to The Grand Hotel Spa in Brighton, where they have Natural Spa Factory products. I’ve never heard of this brand before but I must say that I like the fact that all their products are made with botanically resourced ingredients, without parabens, SLS and any dodgy ingredients. It’s all natural and I love that!

This bilberry & chamomile peel off mask has healthy-aging properties, which comes from the bilberry as well as a smoothing effect from the chamomile. It also contains marine algae, which has moisturising, healing and strengthening properties that give the skin antioxidant protection.

Each pack contains around 2 treatments and it’s specifically designed for sensitive skin.

How to use it?

  1. Mix half of the package (around 15g of powder) with 45ml of water
  2. Stir with a spatula for 1 min to get a smooth paste
  3. Apply immediately avoiding the eyes and eyebrows. If you don’t apply it immediately the mix will turn into jelly and you won’t be able to use it – trust me when I say this as it happened to me!
  4. Leave the mask for 10-15 minutes to obtain best results.

Ingredients: Diatomaceous Earth, Algin, Calcium Sulfate Hydrate, Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, Sodium Ascorbate, Maltodextrin, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Ormenis Multicaulis Oil, Limonene.

It was my first time trying a peel off mask and I pretty much enjoyed the experience. The instructions were easy to follow and it wasn’t one of those messy masks.

The smell is also nice, like clean sheets I’d say. It is not an aggressive face mask as it’s specially designed for sensitive skin. It left my skin smooth, calm and fresh without that cold feeling.

The only issue I had is that the mix dries very quickly so the first time I mixed the powder with the water I couldn’t use it at all as the mix turned into jelly before I could apply it. The second time (now following the instructions) it went very well, and I’ll definitely buy it again.

Have you tried any Natural Factory Spa products? Do you have any recommendations?
