Following my latest post about “Places to visit in Barcelona” I though I would put together a little guide for foodies in Barcelona.
The places below are where my friends and I went on our last city break in Barcelona. However, I’m sure this lovely city has many many fabulous bars and restaurants.
– Iriati Taverna Basca
If you are staying or visiting the Gothic Quarter (El Barri Gotic), the Iriati Taverna Basca is a tasty tapas restaurant. The tapas are 1.90€ and they also offer a wide range of wines.
We went to Bodega Biarritz for dinner. They also do tapas and the prices go up to 4€/tapa. We ate and drank a lot and we didn’t pay more than 12€ each.
They also do mojitos… mmmmm. The place is not very big and when they are full they won’t let anyone else come in unless someone has finished.
- La Tossa
La Tossa is the perfect place to have lunch and it’s very near La Sargada Familia; so if you are around should play a visit to La Tossa. They have a daily menu with 3 courses for 11€, pretty good eh? I had fideúa, like noodle fish paella. If you like fish, this dish is very fishy!
- Food Market
A visit to the food market is mandatory. Fresh food, veggies, fish, meat… Honestly, it was a dream. I wish I could do my shopping in markets more often.
We bought all the ingredients and one of the boys made an exquisite risotto in the apartment.
The “pa amb tumaca” is very popular in Cataluña so we decided to made it ourselves and that was our breakfast in the morning. I miss those flavoured tomatoes so much!
Feel free to share any nice places to eat in Barcelona!
